On 6 November 2009 the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Award will be presented for the third time. This year's nominees are designers Mada van Gaans, Bas Kosters, Sjaak Hullekes, Iris van Herpen and Jeroen van Thuyl. The prize will be presented to the fashion label that has the best prospects for international breakthrough and involves a sum of 25,000 Euros. With this price, Dutch Fashion Foundation, initiator of the award, aims to focus attention on Dutch fashion at the national and international levels and to build a bridge between creativity and commerce.

Arnhem Mode Biënnale prides on the fact that all nominees made one or several contributions to the editions of Arnhem Mode Biënnale. Contrary to earlier editions, the presentation will not take place in Amsterdam but in The Hague. Monique van Heist and the fashion duo Klavers van Engelen were winners of earlier awards.
